LARGEST SAVING IN CAIRO

I ended up choosing to outsource to CrossWorkers in Cairo because the savings were greatest here, even though I had some prejudice about how it would be to work with Egyptian developers.

WE MAKE IT EASIER

BETTER SAVINGS

IT outsourcing can be economical for most European companies regardless of size, geography, industry or corporate culture. On paper, the savings are typically large, regardless which destination you choose, but you may risk different challenges depending on your destination. This is usually due to large variations in time zones or cultural differences that make it difficult to communicate, or local leaders who slow down the direct contact in the collaboration. Or, you might collaborate with a sizable company having a large number of IT developers, who work on separate tasks for different customers at the same time.

In CrossWorkers, savings are factual in practice, because our Egyptian IT developers work at least as competently, persistently and efficiently as European developers – dedicated and committed to the specific client we have hired them to work for. At the same time, our clients are relieved from burdens caused by different time zones, cultural clash and unnecessary intermediaries.
Below, a selection of our customers tells us how they have had maximum benefit from outsourcing all or part of their IT development to us.

MORE THAN AN
OUTSOURCING PARTNER

Recognizing the poor possibility to attract sufficiently qualified local web developers, when web development is not one’s core business, we struggled for several years to succeed in outsourcing our IT development tasks. Only when we became acquainted with CrossWorkers, and hired our own dedicated IT developers through them, our web development became seriously well under way.

CrossWorkers has a very well-functioning recruitment and screening process in Cairo. They easily understood what we wanted, and what European companies generally focus upon. I quickly got three skilled people employed in Cairo, who spoke English at high level and were willing to culturally adapt, so I could be sure they would come forward with whatever they couldn’t understand.

MAXIMAL SAVING
IN CAIRO

I ended up choosing to outsource to CrossWorkers in Cairo because the savings were greatest here, even though I had some prejudice about how it would be to work with Egyptian developers. In Western Europe, you easily pay DKK 60,000 a month for a developer, including the cost of an office space, while in Cairo, the salary is about DKK 20,000 or slightly higher if you need a team leader. In other words, you save almost two-thirds, and it could be felt in a small company like mine.

We started in 2017, and today I have three Egyptian developers employed, who are physically in the CrossWorkers office in Cairo. I have witnessed that the quality has improved considerably than when I had Danish developers employed. In fact, I’m shocked at how good it is.

DILIGENT, CRITICAL AND
WITH PROFESSIONAL PRIDE

Cairo may not be the outsourcing site that you first think about – yet – but in fact it’s obvious if you put your prejudices aside. In Cairo, you are on the same timezone, and when there is a constant increase of highly qualified IT people introduced to the Egyptian market, the competition to predominate is very hard.

I am very excited about CrossWorker’s concept because, as a client, you have direct access and communication with the developers you choose to hire for the assignments, and therefore, become an integrated and dedicated part of your own company. It is safe to have a Danish managed company in Cairo, which is capable of attracting some really good candidates, and provides a highly technical and outstanding physical environment available to the developers, whom you employ.

– Rolf Mandrup

It soon became apparent that the developers’ professionalism was significantly above average, and all three employees were very motivated to work since they were employed in August 2017. In fact, they have now become such a skilled and so integrated part of our development team; hence, I can see that the concept works fully in practice. It means to us that we have achieved what we have always wanted: to have the opportunity to scale our business. We now know that, at any time, we can supply more skilled Egyptian developers for such a reasonable cost, which fits well for us in terms of earnings. We are already planning to hire two more developers in Cairo, in a short period of time.

I am very pleased working with CrossWorkers. The management of the Cairo office is a very good intermediary between our company and our Egyptian employees, and it gives us a secure safety net if a situation arises with an employee, for example, having private problems. The Danish management also handles matters immediately, if there is something on the wrong track, and perceives our input as constructive criticism. They are obviously 100 percent willing to work for our full satisfaction.

With CrossWorkers’ Danish-Egyptian leadership in Cairo, I feel I have an important partner with whom I can cooperate to make my business succeed. It is part of their corporate culture that they are so committed, and hence, they become much more than just an outsourcing partner. Although they have expanded considerably, I still enjoy the managers’ personal help and, for example, they personally pick me up at the airport when I visit Cairo.

I greatly appreciate our three Egyptian IT developers, especially their professional pride. When I set a direction for development, they do their best to deliver what requested, and they are critical at the same time, asking questions to make sure they understood the task correctly. They work really well, both their ability to understand the task and to execute it is very good. In addition, they are all reliable, hardworking and some wonderful people to work with.

CrossWorkers has undoubtedly made it very attractive for IT developers to work for them, with their good wages on the local scale and really good working conditions. The Egyptians working in the office are predominantly younger, outgoing people with dreams and ambitions – and a good ability to treat others with mutual respect.

Overall, I’m impressed with CrossWorkers’ proficiency. Both screening and recruitment run fast in a reasonable process, and even though CrossWrokers is expanding, they have managed to stay close, where they are good at listening, comply with our wishes and provide quick answers to our questions. In addition, I felt that it was different and liberating to enter into our cooperation, which took place in a very open and honest process, where you as a customer also learn what to pay attention to. It provides a good basis for future cooperation.

I always recommend others to consider if CrossWorkers fit their needs. To me, it is a very positive experience, and I think that the outsourcing and cooperation, as a whole, work perfectly

When I first started working with CrossWorkers, it was a bit more chaotic down there, than it is today. They drove like maniacs, so my first impression when I was picked up at the airport was not particularly positive. However, when I met the Egyptian developers and got to know them, the situation became totally different. The Egyptians are proud people, and are very welcoming to Europeans. They are honest, they fulfill their tasks, and you can count on what they say. They have no trouble in contradicting or turning someone down, which is essential in a close cooperation.

For example, I very much appreciated the personality of my first developer, when I met him and briefed him about my company’s future plans. His dedication and engagement were unique, and our cooperation was fantastic from the start. And he was not the only one, I have never had better IT developers, and I’m really pleased with the results of their work. I would like to recommend CrossWorkers to others at any time, and emphasize the high quality that the employees deliver.

CrossWorkers are great at finding good candidates, and their entire concept and the way we work together are very efficient. The culture at the Cairo office is distinctly Scandinavian, with benefits and working methods like at home. CrossWorkers, for example, assigns prizes to those employees who provide something extra, and the entire working environment down there is highly technical influenced by a technical director, who motivates and coaches the developers on a daily basis.

It is clear that CrossWorkers has a huge appeal to Egyptian developers, who in many cases strive to work for a local company with Western culture and a healthy economic performance.

We typically start with a non-binding meeting, where we hear more about your outsourcing needs, and we explain to you CrossWorkers’ concept and way of working.
If you are directly appealed by our concept and we can meet your needs, we will prepare together an ROI calculation to see if it’s financially worthwhile to outsource your IT development, or parts of it to us in Cairo.
After the meeting, we present to you an offer for outsourcing based on the amount of resources you need, with the qualifications and profiles you have expressed. The offer is simple and illustrates both the costs of having the desired number of IT personnel employed in CrossWorkers, and the additional charges, such as, travel expenses and start-up of new employees.
Once you have decided to choose us as your outsourcing partner, we will prepare a draft contract, which also includes a data processing agreement. We fully comply with the GDPR provisions on personal data protection for data inside and outside of the EU – both legally and in practice – and this is also reflected in our contracts.
Once the contract is in place and signed by both parties, we can start recruiting Egyptian IT employees that best fit into your organization.
